Barbara, born and raised in Fort Pierce, wears many hats in her remarkable journey through life. She is the devoted wife of the amazing Rogers Walker and the loving mother of three beautiful daughters, with the added joy of being a grandmother to two adorable grandchildren. Barbara is a remarkable African woman whose journey has been shaped by the rich tapestry of her lineage. Her experiences, resilience, and determination reflect the diverse cultures, landscapes, and histories of Africa. As a woman from this vibrant and dynamic diaspora, she brings a unique perspective to her endeavors, embodying the spirit of unity and strength that characterizes African people. Her life is a beautiful blend of roles, as she gracefully holds it all together as a mom, Nana, Authoress, Pastor, Evangelist, lyricist, counselor, singer, entrepreneur, event coordinator, and along with her husband, the host of the podcast “Hanging With The Walkers.”
Barbara’s journey into the world of literature and music has been nothing short of extraordinary. She was nominated for “Author of the Year” in 2021 at the prestigious Manasota Honors for her outstanding contributions to literature. Currently residing in the picturesque town of Wimauma, Florida, Barbara is not only a Frontline worker as a nurse but also serves as a Pastor alongside her husband, Rogers, who is the Senior Pastor of Connecting in the Spirit Outreach Ministries Inc.
As an accomplished Authoress, Barbara has penned five published books that include “We Can Make it Work” Volume I & II, “I Do Fit,” “His Wife/His Armor Bearer,” and “Forever Growing” (available on Amazon, Kindle, and Kingdom Christian Bookstore). Her literary talents are matched only by her musical prowess, with four songs released and available on all major digital platforms.
Beyond her impressive artistic accomplishments, Barbara is available for book signings, conferences, meetings, and offers invaluable marital and pre-marital counseling services. Her dedication to “building, birthing, and bringing families together” shines through in all her endeavors, and her life motto, “If I can help someone along life’s journey, then my living won’t be in vain,” is a testament to her unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
