On December 7, 2019 Black Power 96 Radio held an event at the St. Petersburg Akwaaba Hall to recognize and appreciate all the local volunteers and donors who make our community radio station possible.

Akilé Anai, Editor of The Burning Spear newspaper and recent city council candidate, spoke on the importance of media in the hands of the black community.

Special thanks to:

  • Heavy’s Food Truck, Miezi Bhekizitha and Uhuru Foods & Pies for delicious food at the event;
  • DJ Eddie and Iquan for Emcee-ing the evening;
  • Kolbi Evans, Krown, GBT Babies and B.L.A. for your performances;
  • Cierra and all the volunteers who helped build for and staff the event;
  • Pop Lancaster for taking photos;
  • And everyone who attended – YOU make Black Power 96 Radio happen!
