To all of Black Power 96 Radio’s listeners and supporters—thank you for helping us meet our goal of raising $6,000 in our July Supporting Member Fund Drive.

Yes, the COVID-19 pandemic has presented new challenges to your community radio station.

Some of our staff and volunteers were hit personally by the virus and had to stay home to quarantine and recover.

We’ve had to close our doors temporarily to visitors and to new volunteers.

We had to move our summer benefit concert which we usually hold in-person, to be an online event.

And you—our listeners, our family, our community—stuck with us and supported us through it all.

And that’s what Black Power 96 Radio is all about:

• Strengthening the unity of our black community
• Giving voice to our stories, our truth, our history and our future

Here at Black Power 96 Radio, we turned a challenge into a victory.

Going online with our Free Da Mic virtual concert allowed us to bring national recording artists into our line-up. If you missed it, watch it on-demand! Kinnie Ken, Ms. Jody and more performed in the live show that raised over $1,000 towards our Member Drive.

We stayed on the air. We got on the phones. We called on you, our listeners, for your support and you came through!

Now Black Power 96 Radio has the funds we need to stay on the air for the rest of this year.

We will continue to provide you with the latest information on the COVID-19 pandemic—the real truth about public health protocols and available resources.
