Black Power 96 Radio is fundraising to launch and run the station – we’re participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving to non-profit organizations. We are also building our music library and want your input.
Put these things together and you have the #BlackPower96MusicChallenge!
Give a donation to support the station if you can. And make a video telling us about the first song that made you feel proud to be black. Post your video to Facebook using the hashtag #BlackPower96MusicChallenge and the suggested text below and then tag 3 or more friends.
Step 1: Make a donation on blackpower96.org
This is not required to participate in the challenge, but can motivate others to donate, and counts toward $5,000 urgently needed to fund the rest of our tower construction and the purchase of additional broadcast equipment. Give a lot or a little – it only takes a few minutes – Donate now >>
Step 2: Make your video
Use your cell phone, web cam or other video recorder to tell a story about the first song that made you feel proud to be black. If using a cell phone, shooting in landscape mode is best.
At the start of your video, read this simple script:
Thanks [friend’s name] for tagging me! (If you donated – “I just donated $____”).I would like to tag [friend],[friend], and [friend]. Please support Black Power 96.3 FM Radio by donating if you can and by telling your story about the first song that made you feel proud to be black.
Step 3: Post your video to Facebook
Upload your video to Facebook and post it with this text, similar to the intro script above:
Thanks [friend’s name] for tagging me for the #GivingTuesday #BlackPower96MusicChallenge! I would like to tag [friend],[friend], and [friend]. Please support Black Power 96.3 FM Radio by 1. Donating on blackpower96.org and/or 2. Posting a video about the first song that made you feel proud to be black.
Use Facebook’s “tagging” feature so that the people you are tagging for the challenge get notified.
